Betty Blanchard's Obituary
Betty Blanchard, age 90, of St. Clair, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, August 6. She was born October 20, 1920 to the late Auldin and Alice Aldrich. Betty married Harland G. Blanchard on November 9, 1940 and he died on May 1, 1995. Betty enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, talking on the phone, her favorite soap opera, gardening and spending time with Mickey D, her cockatiel and constant companion.
She is survived by her son, Robert H. Blanchard of St. Clair; 2 daughters, Barbara (Franklin) Dodea of St. Clair and Brenda (Karl) Miller of Port Huron. Grandchildren, Michael (R Sue) Dodea, David Dodea, Traci (Carl) Liniarski, Jane (Gene) Goyette, Scott (Paula) Blanchard, Thomas Blanchard, and Stacey (Rob) Hendershot. Great-grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Qualls, Thomas and Michael Dodea, CJ, Jacob and Megan Liniarski, Jackson and Lexie Blanchard, Bethany and Katie Kraft, Scott, Brooklyn and Marion Blanchard, Ian, Ella and Camden Hendershot. A sister, Patsy Haynes of Port Huron and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by 6 brothers; Kenneth, Ray, Don, Charles, Jack and Melbourne and 3 sisters; Eunice, Peggy and Geraldine.
Visitation will be from 2-9 PM, Tuesday in the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home with funeral service Wednesday at 11 AM in the Funeral Home, the Rev Glenn Stone officiating. Betty’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial following in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 115 N 6th, St. Clair.
