Barbara Cowles Girardi's Obituary
Barbara J. (Cowles) Girardi, age 84 of Port Huron, passed away peacefully surrounded in love by her children at St. John’s Detroit, on Thursday January 8, 2015.
She was born March 19, 1930 to the late Arthur and Alice Denker in Port Huron.
She married Basil G. Cowles in 1948. She later married her soul mate, Vincent J Girardi, April 21, 1978 and he preceded her in death in 2010. Barbara retired from the Trust Department of the Commercial and Savings Bank in St. Clair. She was a member of St. mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clair and a member of F.O.E. Aerie 3702. She enjoyed her life with her family, which gave her great happiness and joy. She enjoyed eating out with her friends, shopping (shoes were her passion) and onion rings.
Barbara is survived by her beloved children, Linda (Dennis) Elliott, Barbara A. (Fred) Blain, Joseph (Kathryn) Cowles, William (Judy) Cowles, Jerry (Rochelle) Cowles and her little companion Annie Lou, grand children Sheila (Steven) Glod, Scott (Tracy)
Elliott, Jennifer (Dale) Bailey, Michael Cowles, Bryan Cowles, Mary Cowles, Jacob and Johsua Blain, Jennifer Jamison and Pamela Rambow, 5 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Vincent, Sister Alice V. King, daughter Cynthia Rambow and grand daughter Tina Lynn Cowles
Visitation Sunday 1-3 and 5-7 PM in the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 PM Sunday. In state Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair from 9 AM till mass at 10 AM. Memorials to St. Mary's Church or Blue Water Humane Society
