Andrew Timothy Gerrits, age 51, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida formerly of St. Clair, died Saturday, August 6, 2005 as a result of a sky diving accident in Rantoul, Illinois. Andy was born June 10, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska to Dr. James and Lois Gerrits. He graduated from St. Clair High School, Western Michigan University, Wayne State Law School, and earned his Masters in Estate Law from Miami University. He was an attorney in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mr.Gerrits is survived by his parents, Dr. James and Lois Gerrits. Four brothers; Thomas (Renae), Peter (Charlotte), Patrick (Kathy) & Timothy (Julie) Gerrits; Three sisters; Linda Gerrits, Susan (Kevin) Murphy & Margret (Harman) Nagler, and his dear friend Debra Hancock. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends Friday, August 12 from 6-9 PM. in the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, Rosary at 7:30 PM. A memoiral mass will be held Saturday, August 13, at 10 AM, St. Mary''s Catholic Church, St. Clair. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Andrew''s name to St. Mary''s School, 800 Orchard, St. Clair, Michigan 48079.
