Aileta Beatrice Emig's Obituary
Aileta Beatrice (Evans) Emig, 95, passed to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 21, 2007. She was born in Cash, Michigan on April 11, 1912, to Byron and Katherine Evans. The family moved to Port Huron when she was in grade school and she graduated from Port Huron High School in 1930, and later, the Port Huron Junior College.
She and Gerald M. Emig were married in Port Huron on November 8, 1952 in the First Presbyterian Church; at the time of her marriage, she was an executive secretary at the Diamond Crystal Salt Company.
Aileta is survived by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Michele (Ron) Hall, Tacoma, WA; son, Gerald S. Emig, Walker, MI; three grandchildren, Heather Emig, Lauren Emig, and Gerald D. Emig; a sister, Helen (Cliff) Smith of Marysville, MI; brother, George (Beverly) Evans of Banning, CA; Brother-in-law, Dr. G.C. (Irene) Graf of Frankenmuth, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister Gwendolyn Graf, preceded her in death.
Among her many interest was her membership in the St. Clair Music Study Club; serving as a “Pink Lady” volunteer at River District Hospital; serving as a Cub Scout Leader; being an active member of a bridge club, the St. Clair Museum volunteer staff and the First United Methodist Church, St. Clair. She was a wonderful cook. (She did not enjoy playing golf since she always stated that her husband taught her to “hit the top of the ball.”)
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 2:00P, Sunday, June 24 at the St. Clair United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Don Gotham, officiating.
Memorials may be made to the St. Clair First United Methodist Church of St. Clair, MI. or the St. Clair Museum.
